House Hunting Should Be Simple.
Most Apps Make It Complicated.
We built RealHunt to make home searching
enjoyable and efficient — at the same time.
You find a listing you like. You want to ask the agent about it.
What happens next shouldn't involve a contact form, a callback from someone you've never met, and three follow-up emails.
We built RealHunt to be enjoyable and efficient at the same time. Not lead generation. An app that helps you and the agent find the right home, without friction.
A Map That Works Like a Map
Open the app and you're on the map. No splash screens, no tutorials, no "complete your profile to continue."
Pinch, zoom, pan. Tap a listing, see the details. Switch between 2D, 3D, or satellite view. It's a native app — built for iOS and Android — not a web page stuffed into a mobile wrapper.
Want to search a specific area? Draw it. Literally draw a shape on the map with your finger. Not "select from predefined neighborhoods" or "enter a postal code and hope for the best." You draw where you want to look, and the app shows you what's there.

Map with drawn search area
And as you browse, the map remembers. Listings you've already viewed or liked are marked — so you always know what's new and what you've already seen.
Saved Searches That Actually Notify You

Saved search with alert settings
Set up a search: your drawn area, your price range, your filters. Save it.
Now choose how you want to be notified when new listings appear:
- Immediately — push notification as soon as something matches
- Every 6 hours — batched updates
- Daily digest — once a day at 9 AM
No spam. No duplicates. You only see new matches.
The agent can create searches for you too. Looking for a 3-bedroom in a specific school catchment? They build that search, send it to you, you approve it. Now you're both watching the same criteria.
School Ratings You Can Actually Understand
Most school ratings are a single number — 7.2/10 — with no explanation of what it means or when it was last updated.
We built our own rating system using EQAO data (Ontario's standardized tests). Every school gets three scores:
- Overall Rating (0-10)
- Math Rating (0-10)
- Literacy Rating (0-10)
Why three? Because a school with an 8.0 overall could be strong in Math and weaker in Literacy, or the opposite. That matters when you're choosing a school for your kid.

School ratings with 4-year trend
We also show a 4-year trend so you can see if a school is improving, stable, or declining. And our data is current — 2024-25 EQAO results, updated within weeks of release.
(We wrote a whole article on how we built this.)
Chat With the Agent. For Real.

Direct chat with agent
Not a contact form. Not a lead routed to whoever's on duty. A direct conversation with the agent.
Share a listing. Ask a question. Get a response. React to messages. Send photos.
One feature we're particularly happy with: paste an MLS number into the chat, and the app automatically pulls up the listing card. No more "which property were you asking about?"
Know What You'll Actually Pay
The listing says $850,000. What does that actually cost per month?
The mortgage calculator shows:
- Monthly mortgage payment
- Property taxes (actual amount if available, estimated if not)
- Condo fees (if applicable)
Adjust the down payment, interest rate, and amortization. See how CMHC insurance affects your payment if you're putting less than 20% down. There's even a "Set Min" button that calculates the minimum down payment allowed.

And your settings persist. Set your preferred down payment percentage and interest rate once — they carry over as you browse through listings. No re-entering the same numbers on every property.
It's not hidden in a menu. It's right there on every listing.
What We Didn't Build
RealHunt covers Ontario with a specific focus on the Greater Toronto Area. We're starting focused — get one region right, then expand.
No algorithm deciding which listings to show first based on who paid more. Just listings, a map, and a direct line to the agent.
We're actively improving:
• User-driven development — We ship UX improvements and new features based on what users actually need
• Fast iteration — Found something that could work better? Tell us. We listen and act quickly
• No feature bloat — We add what helps, skip what doesn't
